Teddy Bear Clinic Request

Our “Teddy Bear Clinic” is a free injury prevention program for children, sponsored by the Trauma Center at Stony Brook Children’s Hospital (SBC). The activity runs about 40 minutes; 20 minutes for safety education and 20 minutes for Teddy Bear Clinic. We offer in person clinic experiences or classroom video that teachers may use to lead a clinic with their class.  We cover safety topics on car and helmet safety in a fun and interactive way before letting the children dress up as doctors and nurses to “take care” of their injured stuffed animals. Due to high demand, we offer programs on a first come, first serve basis.  We will do our best to accommodate all requests.  Please review our Prep Guide before submitting a request.

To track requests in order received, and to assist with scheduling needs, all program requests must be made through our online registration.

Thank you for your interest and we look forward to working with you!

We prefer to schedule programs for the morning and finish before lunch, when possible. The activity runs about 40 mins to 1 hour per class session. Special accommodations can be made to fit scheduling needs (combining classes, running 2 classes simultaneously, etc)

Will 3-5 parent helpers be available to lend a hand during the program?
